The employees of L'Anhydrite Lorraine devote all their expertise and know-how to the extraction of the purest anhydrite, with quality that is as consistent as possible.
The underground working of the quarry follows the method of abandoned pillars and chambers. After blasting by drilling and explosive firing, the loader-transporters carry and pour the stone into a primary crusher. Belt conveyors then carry it up to a secondary crushing machine located above ground. This operation makes it possible to sort and store the material in silos with four separate grain sizes: 0/50 mm, 0/4 mm and 4/50 mm and lastly micronised anhydrite quality is achieved by additional treatment in the micronisation station. The site has a permanent port installation on the Moselle, from where barges take the anhydrite and deliver it all over Europe.
